EBM Engineer

This is an established US manufacturer producing highly regulated metal components using additive manufacturing. They already have a sizeable metal AM operation and are now expanding into EBM, so this person will help build out the process as it moves into production.

The role sits across process development and manufacturing, taking new parts from build preparation and parameter development through validation, post-processing and repeatable production.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and optimise EBM processes for titanium components
• Prepare builds including orientation, supports, nesting and build layouts
• Run process development, DOE and parameter optimisation work
• Support equipment and process qualification
• Troubleshoot build, powder, machine and part quality issues
• Create work instructions, routings and manufacturing documentation
• Support new parts through validation and production release

Experience required:

• Hands-on EBM experience, ideally on Arcam equipment
• Metal additive process development or production experience
• Experience with build preparation software such as Materialise Magics
• Understanding of titanium powder handling and post-processing
• Experience with process qualification or validation
• Background in medical, aerospace or another regulated manufacturing environment preferred
• Familiarity with formal quality systems is useful
