Manufacturing Engineer

Salary: $110,000 – $130,000

Are you looking to work on real production challenges in metal additive manufacturing?

Our client is an advanced manufacturing company producing complex metal 3D printed components for demanding industrial applications.

This role offers the opportunity to work across manufacturing engineering, Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), design review, process development, inspection, documentation, and production support. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys being close to the manufacturing process, solving practical engineering problems, and helping transform complex designs into reliable, repeatable production.

The Role

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you’ll play a key role in supporting the production of high-performance metal additive manufactured components. Working closely with engineering and production teams, you’ll help optimise manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing processes across additive manufacturing, finishing, and inspection.
  • Apply Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles to improve manufacturability, build success, and production repeatability.
  • Review part designs, customer drawings, and technical requirements to identify manufacturing risks.
  • Support build preparation, including part orientation, support strategies, and build layout planning.
  • Work with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot design, process, and dimensional issues.
  • Develop and improve production workflows, work instructions, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), process validation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within additive manufacturing, machining, or advanced manufacturing environments.
  • Understanding of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), design for manufacture, or production engineering principles.
  • Experience using CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manufacturing specifications.
  • Familiarity with inspection, metrology, and dimensional problem-solving techniques.
  • A practical, hands-on approach with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
